The Acquaviva team of the CPIA Smart Citizens won the special "Social" award for having received the most votes from the Facebook audience and finished fourth in the competition "Making peace with the environment. Territorial proposals for digital innovation for the green transition" La Spezia (Provincial Center for Adult Education), led by Prof. Daniela Garau and by INGV researcher Giovanna Lucia Piangiamore as local representative. The challenge is part of the second edition of EPALE Edu Hack, the initiative promoted by Epale Italia in collaboration with EGInA Foligno and the ICT national purpose network IdA of Ridap (Italian adult education network).
The team designed an environmental digital education tool according to the European good practices of the Digital Education Action Plan, highlighting the centrality of climate actions set by the "European Green Deal".
The tender began remotely on November 18th to continue in person in Rome on November 23rd and November 24th. The long work marathon of the teams ended with the presentation of the creative environmental education courses to the jury.
The project by the team from La Spezia applies innovative digital and gamification techniques, drawing attention to the fragility of the territory from a hydrogeological point of view and the importance of its correct maintenance, with particular attention to safe behaviors to adopt in the event of flood events at support of the Civil Protection. The digital products designed also want to be a tool for reflection on the sustainable use of water, through small daily actions.
"What can each of us do" in his own small way for the good of the community? We'll find out together in a special online event on World Water Day, 22 March 2023, in which all schools in Italy will be invited to play ACQUAVIVA: the nudge of Smart Citizens.
