Workshops, seminars, shows, educational games and much more in the program of appointments dedicated to the schools of the National Institute of Geophysics and Volcanology (INGV) which offers face-to-face and online meetings with students.

The INGV researchers will meet the students of nursery, primary and XNUMXst and XNUMXnd grade secondary schools, to guide them on fascinating journeys to discover Gea, our planet Earth. With a passion for science, researchers will bring enthusiasm for research into the classroom, introducing students, from childhood, to the wonderful world of STEM subjects (science, technology, engineering and mathematics) which, for today, they see a still too low female participation
Among the various activities proposed, "Paper Volcanoes", the workshop for pre-school children, with manual activities.
For the older ones, however, the laboratory becomes… explosive! Indeed, a volcano model will simulate a magma chamber and the functioning of explosive and effusive eruptions.
Furthermore, the researchers will illustrate some types of scientific instruments used for the study of volcanoes and earthquakes, focusing attention on the fact that, moreover, these extend our senses so much that we can perceive otherwise unknowable manifestations of nature.
Finally, the didactic offer does not lack thematic seminars dedicated to the themes of climate change, plate tectonics, the seismic and volcanic activities of the planet and the "attractions" of geomagnetism.

The activities, elaborated on the basis of the students' age, are free and available online and, at the school's choice, can be held in the school premises.
