Awarded to the project “Future Responsible Citizens - Educational path of Civil and Environmental Responsibility" the Nomination of Excellence of the 2021 Filippo Basile Prize for Training in the Public Administration, Section "Training Networks/Training Systems".
The project, born under the agreement between the National Institute of Geophysics and Volcanology (INGV), the Association for Sustainable Development and the Environmental Education Center of Messina, sees the participation of INGV with the module CON.I.RI. (LIVING WITH NATURAL RISKS) - Educational Paths aimed at the prevention and mitigation of seismic and hydrogeological risk and the creation of serious games for online challenges between classes with interactive quizzes taken from "Salvina's choices" on safe behavior in the event of natural disasters.
300 pupils, 145 from primary school and 155 from lower secondary school of Sicilian comprehensive schools, participated with the creation of papers inspired by the topics covered, illustrated to the experts during the final event of the first year of the project on the occasion of the opening of the United Nations Decade for Ecosystem Restoration and World Environment Day 2021.
The Basile award collects the best practices of the Public Administration and has returned, after a year of absence due to the pandemic, in an online version.
The project was sent to the evaluators of the Basile prize by the Metropolitan City of Messina as an example of best practice in the Sicilian territory and is coordinated by AssoCEA Me APS with INGV and CTS IRSSAT (Institute for Research, Development and Experimentation on the Environment and the Territory) .
