Science and Philosophy Festival
With four days, from 22 to 25 April, the appointment with the tenth edition of the “Science and Philosophy Festival – Virtue and Knowledge” promoted by the Laboratory of Experimental Sciences of Foligno and by Oicos ​​Riflessioni, with the patronage of the Umbria Region and the Municipality of Foligno.
"Rethinking the future" is the theme of this new edition, dedicated to the memory of Dante Alighieri on the 700th anniversary of his death, which will be divided into four areas of discussion and reflection: Economy and equity, Democracy and education of the individual, Science, technology and wisdom e Man, society, the earth in the face of climate change.
The National Institute of Geophysics and Volcanology (INGV), scientific partner of the event, will participate in the Festival with two scheduled appointments:
Sunday April 25
| 15 pm - Panel discussion "A life as a researcher at INGV (and beyond)"
Researchers of the Institute will talk about the experiences, emotions and difficulties that are hidden inside the robes of scientists.
| 17 pm - Conference “Earth and earthquakes” by the President of INGV, Prof. Carlo Doglioni
Reflecting on the importance of the study of geosciences for understanding our planet and the dynamics behind the origin of earthquakes and volcanic eruptions is the objective of the meeting.
The rich program of the event, with about 60 appointments including conferences and round tables, will see the participation of about one hundred speakers including scientists, philosophers, journalists and exponents of the institutional, civil and religious world who will take turns in an online relay broadcast live streaming on the Festa's Facebook and YouTube channels.
