The exhibition will be inaugurated tomorrow, December 12th "Thalassa, marvels submerged by the Mediterranean", scheduled at the MANN - National Archaeological Museum of Naples until 9 March 2020.
The National Institute of Geophysics and Volcanology (INGV) will participate by exhibiting, in collaboration with the "Aldo Moro" University of Bari, the "Parthenope" University of Naples and the National Agency for New Technologies, Energy and sustainable economic development (ENEA), of the panels and videos that tell twenty years of scientific studies carried out on the coastal archaeological areas of the Roman era from which important information has been drawn on the increase in sea level and on the tectonic and volcanic movements that occurred during the last 2000 years in the Mediterranean area.
The entire exhibition itinerary, set up in one of the oldest and most important museums in the world for the richness and uniqueness of its heritage, will present around 400 exhibits: the aim of the exhibition is to trace the complex nature of the Mare Nostrum which, already in antiquity, was rich in symbolic, cultural and economic values.
