The eighth edition of Blue Sea Land, the international event scheduled until Sunday 20 in Mazara del Vallo (TP) dedicated to the theme of fishing and blue growth, as well as cooperation and economic and cultural development of countries in the Mediterranean area, the Maghreb and Africa sub-Saharan.
The Palermo Section of the National Institute of Geophysics and Volcanology (INGV) participates in the appointment by showing visitors one of its latest generation submarine observatories. Panels on submarine hydrothermalism and on the IDMAR project (Multidisciplinary Laboratory on the Sea) will also be exhibited, aimed at creating a multidisciplinary laboratory distributed on land and at sea for scientific and technological research.
In addition to INGV, Mediterranean government institutions, regional and national institutions including the Ministry of Foreign Affairs (MAECI) and the Ministry of Economic Development (MISE), Italian and international commercial operators, Research institutions, universities and technological districts of the Sicilian Region.
During Blue Sea Land there will also be space for the traveling exhibition “Sea Fest. Do not touch", during which ecological tactile books made by sighted, visually impaired and blind children will be exhibited, guided by the hand of the illustrator Monica Saladino. Meetings are also planned with the children of numerous local schools aimed at spreading the culture of the sea and social inclusion among the youngest.
