From 13 to 19 October, the Civil Protection Week. The initiative, promoted by the National Department of Civil Protection, is carried out with the aim of promoting the adoption of conscious behavior and self-protection measures among citizens, as well as promoting information to the population on risk scenarios and good practices to adopt.
For the occasion, the National Institute of Geophysics and Volcanology (INGV), the DPC's center of expertise, is organizing scientific and monitoring events.

In Bologna the appointment is on 17 October, from 9.30 to 12.00, in the Emilia Romagna Region (Aula Magna in via Aldo Moro 30), with Anomalous geological phenomena and the Emilian earthquake of May 2012: the role of citizens and the responses of researchers and the National Civil Protection Service.

INGV of Milan will be present at the day Competence centers for seismic risk reduction in Lombardy organized by Eucentre on 16 October, in Pavia. From 10.00 to 13.00 we will talk about seismic risk, monitoring and assessment of damage to strategic structures and infrastructures, regional Civil Protection and much more.

The headquarters of the INGV Vesuvius Observatory (OV – INGV) will participate, as a center of competence of the Civil Protection Department, in Exe Flegrei 2019, the maxi exercise on volcanic risk which for four days will involve the citizens of Campania in the Flegrea area in the simulations of the various emergency phases. The exercise provides, in particular, for the involvement of the municipalities of the red zone of Campi Flegrei, the Prefecture of Naples, the Campania Region and the Centers of Competence of the Civil Protection Department (INGV, Plinivs-LUPT study center and CNR-IREA) . The Regions and Autonomous Provinces twinned with the municipalities of the red zone will also participate as observers.

The INGV of Pisa participates on 17 October with a speech by the Director Carlo Meletti at the University of Florence, where hydrogeological risk will be discussed. The appointment is from 10.00 to 13.30 at the Istituto degli Innocenti in Piazza SS. Annunziata 12, Florence.
… the events in Rome
At the Rome office, in via di Vigna Murata 605, the Sections of the INGV "National Earthquake Observatory", "Roma 1" and "Roma 2" are organizing a day of scientific experiences aimed at teachers on 18 October, from 10.00 to 18.00 , high school and university students, journalism students and civil defense volunteers. The day's program includes participation in in-depth scientific experiences on monitoring and research for civil protection purposes.
