8 – 14 April 2019 INGV participated in the XIV edition of the National Geographic Science Festival at the Auditorium Parco della Musica in Rome. This year's theme, 500 years after the death of the genius Leonardo, is invention understood as the creation and introduction of a concept, an idea, a technology.
9 April 2019 The meeting with the top management and staff of Komen Italia, the organizing association of the "Race for the Cure" in Italy, was held in the Conference Room of the Rome branch of INGV, which kicked off the participation of the Institute at the 2019 edition of the charity race aimed at supporting research to fight breast cancer.
9 - 11 April 2019 INGV participated in the Abruzzo Civil Protection exercise "Elliot the Dragon": the aim of the days, to inform and raise awareness among citizens on the risks associated with the territory and on the behaviors to adopt in the event of an emergency.
11 April 2019 The Round Table "Planet Earth always in transformation and place of life: what guards it and what threatens it?" was held in the Conference Room of the Rome branch of INGV. During the meeting, organized in collaboration with the Chaplain of the Research Institutes of the MIUR, Father Mauro Oliva, the natural aspects that have controlled and still favor or threaten life on Earth were discussed.
11 – 14 April 2019 INGV participated in the XNUMXth edition of the Festival of Science and Philosophy - Virtue and Canoscenza of Foligno, whose theme was "Evoking the world: the exploration of reality". During the event, the experts involved the public of non-experts by addressing usually very specific topics such as science, technology and philosophy.
27 April – 3 May 2019 Also this year INGV took part in the XNUMXth edition of the Bif&st – Bari International Film Festival, during which Marco Anzidei, INGV researcher and coordinator of the Savemedcoasts project, met the audience on the sidelines of the screening of film "Flow" by Irena Salina, as part of the Cinema and Science review this year dedicated to "Water, thirst, wars".
