RISK SCENARIOS IN THE IBLEO TERRITORIAL SYSTEM
MEDITERRANEAN PALACE - Via Roma, Ragusa
Science, Territory and Community: the future is built together
In the heart of the Iblean territory, among the extraordinary geological complexities of south-eastern Sicily, the National Institute of Geophysics and Volcanology promotes a scientific and institutional event of national importance, included in the celebrations of its 25th anniversary.
The INGV Seminar in Ragusa (9-10 June 2025) was created to Strengthen the dialogue between research, administrations and local communities, with a focus on the main natural and environmental risks affecting the area: seismicity, marine intrusion, pollution and sustainable land management. The direct involvement of the INGV offices in Catania and Palermo, provincial and local institutions, the Civil Protection and the Regional School Office testifies to the integrated and multidisciplinary approach of the event.
A two-day event of discussion, dissemination and sharing, in the name of applied science at the service of the territory, with a careful eye on the environmental and technological challenges of the future.
To enrich the event, an organ concert in the baroque Cathedral of San Giorgio in Ragusa Ibla, to celebrate the profound connection between knowledge, identity and beauty.
