Call 2010

The National Institute of Geophysics and Volcanology promotes a civil service project aimed at girls and boys between the ages of 18 and 28 who are interested in gaining experience in the geophysics and volcanology sector. There are 10 places for the project that will take place at the Naples office and will start in 2011, with a duration of 12 months.

The INGV project – will be implemented at the headquarters of the Vesuvian Observatory (INGV headquarters in Naples) and will concern the monitoring and study of areas exposed to volcanic risk, as well as the strengthening, development and efficiency of the monitoring systems of the monitored volcanic areas.
The project "Us and the Volcanoes” will bring young people closer to the world of volcanology, involving them:
  • in monitoring the active volcanic areas of Campania (Vesuvius, Campi Flegrei and Ischia), which together host over one million inhabitants, therefore of fundamental importance for the safety of this community exposed to volcanic risk;
  • in the management of instrumental systems to implement said monitoring.
